After his first degree, Robin went to Cranfield School of Management before starting in business, where he led growth in a number of businesses at a senior level, principally in technology and media including two he founded. He is today a highly versatile, commercially experienced strategy and investment professional with international experience. His clarity as founding entrepreneur, investor and professional advisor is invaluable in advising others and was instrumental in founding Ruffena Capital.

Dwight was MD of John Govett before becoming an independent director and advisor to many start-ups, and smaller companies. He has also worked on the board of a number of quoted companies and is a key relationship builder between investors and investees. Dwight has a wealth of experience in business, business planning and in the funding of small and medium sized companies.
Simon has twenty years management experience in sales and marketing of technology products in various technical sectors. He is a graduate in Engineering Science and has experience in defence systems development. Simon leads the Life Sciences team and investor relations at Ruffena Capital. He has been involved in a range of successful Healthtech related fund raisings some of which have progressed to flotations or trade sales, as well as other technology related sectors.
Xavier was joint founder, shareholder and main board Director of Capital & Regional PLC, a commercial property investment and development company which listed in 1986 and is a fully listed PLC today, managing over £1billion in assets. Xavier also joint founded a commercial publishing and poster advertising company, Primesight, which became a listed PLC and was later sold to Scottish Media Group and continues to trade today.
As an active and experienced entrepreneur and property investor, Xavier heads up our newly formed property team and is already looking at a number of interesting commercial and residential property opportunities for Ruffena investors.
Patrick has many years experience in funding young rapidly growing unquoted businesses with equity and near equity financing. He has advised companies, in a variety of sectors, on equity funding through all stages of the funding process. Educated at Oxford with an MPhil in Management and at Reading with a BSc in Agriculture, Patrick also has experience of business both in the UK and in the developing world.
Previously an Investment Manager at Inventages Venture Capital in London & The Bahamas and a Healthcare Associate at Endeavour Capital Limited, New Zealand, Bernard is registered as a medical practitioner and has a Sloan Fellowship in Management from the London Business School and Bachelors degrees in Medicine and Surgery from Otago University, New Zealand.
Robert spent 35 years in the City of London as a Corporate Stockbroker, mainly at Hoare Govett, where he specialised in raising equity capital from Institutions for small companies on the Main and AIM markets. In 1987 he founded The October Club, a City charity which now annually raises at a City dinner, over half a million pounds for a new different charity which is poised to make a Quantum Leap. Robert has been working with young and growth businesses since 2006 and started the Entrepreneurs’ Dinners at The Groucho Club in London. He was a founder member of Ruffena Capital.
Robert lives on the Hamphire, Wiltshire, Dorset border and particularly seeks for Ruffena's list of growing investors investment opportunities which are already trading and are, like the October Club charities, poised to make the "Quantum Leap".
Tony is a qualified marketeer with a background in manufacturing, retail and construction sectors, including Habitat, Mothercare, RHM Foods Ltd, Parker Knoll, and the National Federation of Builders. As a senior director, his roles delivered major restructuring, new strategic planning and funding growth. Having dealt with c2,500 SME member companies as CEO of the National Federation of Builders, Tony is experienced in varied SME sectors and their business needs and strategies. He is based in the Thames Valley area.
Tony successfully raised a total of £6million (disposals and private equity investments) since 2004 for SMEs before joining the team at Ruffena Capital in late 2013.
Olga joined Ruffena in September 2015 with experience in early stage technology development and digital technology.
Olga is also an Associate Consultant at Isis Enterprise, consulting arm of Isis Innovation, the technology transfer company of the University of Oxford, a Technology Scout at Isis’ Hong Kong branch, specialising in early stage technologies within advanced engineering, medical devices, personalised medicine, and Oil&Gas fields, and a Consultant at McGrigor Group, a global strategy and M&A advisory firm in medical products and services.
Olga holds a doctorate degree in Materials from the University of Oxford and an BSc/MSc in Geology from Moscow State University.
With a background rooted in the financial markets as well as experience in international sales across several sectors, Jack brings a diverse set of skills and business acumen to Ruffena. A former academic scholar, Jack was also the recipient of an ESU scholarship to study in America, before completing a BSc in Business and Management.
Outside of work, Jack is an avid follower of British politics, having written extensively on the subject, and is a keen rugby player and cricketer.
A graduate of Strathclyde University in Accountancy, Jamie served his time with ToucheRoss, latterly in Insolvency, before focusing on the Mining and Energy sectors and raising money for international resource businesses.
Jamie took over as CEO to complete the Brewin Dolphin merger with N+1 in Spain and later advised the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, which led to him establishing an Edinburgh Office for Cantor with the introduction of the Life Sciences & Pharma team from Shore Capital. Jamie currently sits on the Boards of two public companies as a non-exec.
A Dutch national, Mark has had a career in banking and technology, graduating from Eindhoven University of Technology with an MSc. in Chemical Engineering and subsequently a BSc. from Maastricht University in International Business. He started his banking career in Tokyo, before moving to London to join Barclays Capital. He subsequently worked for 7 years at PIMCO helping to build the Benelux business and he then moved back to investment banking with Jefferies and Santander.
Mark has nearly 20 years experience across asset management, investment banking and growth technology companies and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Richard’s first degree was in mechanical engineering and he later studied a full MBA at Cass in London, before founding a technology business.
He invented and designed a payments system that maximises profits at busy bars, pubs and restaurants. This lead to him having a lot of experience working with investors to raise equity and debt financing.
He has a strong strategic drive, is a fluent Spanish speaker and has excellent technology skills as well as day-to-day management of the complexities of advisory and investment work.
Graham joined Ruffena after a successful career in commercial banking, having worked with HSBC Bank plc for 33 years. He has also had over 25 years experience working with commercial clients of all types, with turnovers of up to £50M, across a wide variety of business sectors to ensure strong financial rigour.
Graham compliments our team and client work with a crucial skill and depth of experience in assessing and developing the financial aspects of the investment and lending opportunities that Ruffena Capital works with.
Liyah has worked in administration and events management within the investment sector all her career. She brings a wealth of experience and practicality to ensuring our business maintains and develops its day to day operations, essential processes and systems that are fundamental to a growing business in a regulated environment.
Liyah lives in London with her partner and young daughter.
Jonathan trained in Business and French at Canterbury, and then worked for two years in Canada. Having returned to the UK in 2017, he joined Ruffena Capital in the autumn that year to support the wider team in both research as well as working closely with the technical team, who have been undertaking a systematic review and upgrade of the company's investment platform.
He also undertakes some work for Ruffena Property Partners, who are focused on larger scale property investments for family offices.
Jonathan is a keen jiu-jitsu martial arts student and lives outside of London.
